Senior SDET – QA Automation Engineer

We are looking for a Senior Software Development Test Engineer (SDET)/QA Automation who can contribute to ensuring the quality and performance of large-scale, big data, multi-platform software products, encompassing web, API, and mobile application interfaces. Individuals in this role are seasoned, hands-on, and self-motivated engineers capable of collaborative work in a continuous integration environment. This position involves close collaboration with Software Developers, utilizing shift-left methods to comprehend a complex domain and product. 

Senior SDET/QA Automation focuses on developing automated Functional Integration tests and end-to-end tests using open-source test frameworks for comprehensive system testing within an Agile environment. This role typically operates with limited supervision and direction. Incumbents in this position regularly exercise discretionary and substantial decision-making authority. 

Responsibilities

• Participates in setting up, maintaining, and operating test automation frameworks. 
• Tests complex API, web and mobile based applications that reference database back-end systems. 
• Creates and maintains automated test cases, executes test suites, reviews and diagnoses reported bugs, and ensures overall system quality prior to a customer release. 
• Designs, develops, maintains, and troubleshoots automated suites of tests through continuous integration for value added feedback. 
• Works with the engineering teams to derive testing requirements throughout the development cycle. 
• Reproduces, debugs, and isolates problems and verify fixes. 
• Works closely with software developers to create software artifacts including test plans, test cases, test procedures and test reports.
• Works cross functional areas with internal partner engineering teams in a disciplined agile environment. 
• Estimates own testing tasks and works productively with minimum supervision while showing excellent team attitude. 
• Represents team leadership and provides technical guidance and training to junior test personnel. 
• Participates in the performance testing and analysis framework for a web services architecture and associated back-end applications. 

Essential Skills 

• More than 5 years’ experience in QA/automation testing. 
• Experience with Test processes, open source test frameworks, test design strategies, writing test cases, and automating tests with frameworks like JUnit/TestNG, Selenium, Cypress, JMeter and Appium is preferred.  
• Experience with Jenkins or other continuous integration systems.
• Must have an understanding and ability to develop scripting languages in Python, Java, etc., and working with QA in other countries from different cultural backgrounds will be an advantage.
• Experience with tools & applications such as JIRA, Confluence, BitBucket, Git and Azure DevOps.
• Familiar with Agile development process.
• Experience with design tools is a plus (e.g., Figma, Axure, etc.).
