Senior Data Engineer (Oracle)

We are looking for a Data Engineer who has experience with Oracle Database Administrator (DBA) to manage, maintain, and optimize our Oracle database environments. The ideal candidate will ensure high levels of performance, availability, and security for Oracle databases and support database-related applications by designing effective database schemas that align with business requirements. 

 Key Responsibilities 

• Design and implement database schemas and data models to meet specific business requirements, ensuring data integrity, scalability, and performance. 
• Monitor database performance and implement changes to improve efficiency. 
• Perform database backup, recovery, and disaster recovery planning. 
• Manage database security, including user access and roles. 
• Design and implement database storage structures, schemas, and tablespaces. 
• Troubleshoot database issues and provide timely resolution. 
• Collaborate with development and IT teams to support application deployment and database integration. 
• Maintain database documentation, standards, and procedures. 
• Automate routine DBA tasks using scripts and tools. 
• Manage Oracle RAC (Real Application Clusters) and Data Guard environments (if applicable). 

Required Skills: 

• Ability to analyze business requirements and design efficient, normalized database schemas to support application functionality and reporting needs. 
• Proven experience as an Oracle DBA (typically 3+ years). 
• Strong knowledge of Oracle Database architecture and components. 
• Experience with Oracle versions 11g, 12c, 19c, or newer. 
• Proficient in database backup and recovery (RMAN, Data Pump). 
• Solid understanding of database security best practices. 
• Hands-on experience with performance tuning and troubleshooting. 
• Experience with SQL, PL/SQL, and scripting languages (Shell, Python, Perl). 
• Strong problem-solving and communication skills. 
• Ability to work independently and in a team environment. 

 Nice to have: 

• Programming languages: Typescript, Python, Kotlin 
• Streaming platform: Kafka, Pulsar
